Stories

"I grew up listening to NIN, and finally having a chance to see them live was surreal. The energy was unmatched and the experience unforgettable. I had gone through a really rough time about a decade ago, and 'Hurt' was part of my soundtrack for that moment in my life, and being able to experience the energy of that song live, almost felt like the true closer that I've been looking for ever since then."

"This was my first NIN show!! I was really pissed when I missed the last part of the tour and when I saw they announced more shows I saved up for weeks to get tickets. I got my mom to (a bit reluctantly) go with me, and she ended up really enjoying and saw how much it meant to me which I’m so thankful for. I started listening to them about a year ago, and immediately connected with a lot of the songs on The Downward Spiral. In all honestly, I think Year Zero is my favorite NIN album. I love the way it sounds so aggressive yet on In The Twilight and Zero Sum it gets so gentle. NIN has got me through some truly awful times in my life, especially songs like Ruiner, and made me feel less alone in my feelings and experiences, so I’m so grateful to have been able to see them live. I was worried they weren’t going to play Ruiner, but somehow the stars aligned and it was the second song and on the video I took you can hear me hysterically crying at the beginning, I actually couldn’t believe it was happening and that moment is going to stay with me for a long time. I found out a month before the show that my SAT test was the very next morning, but I regret absolutely nothing, even though I didn’t end up studying and all I could think about was the show."

For the Fort Worth show, this was my first show for Nine Inch Nails, a friend if mine flew in from Louisiana and we saw it together. It was absolutely lifechanging. It made me wish so badly I had been born earlier to have gone to more shows. This was also the catylist of getting my friend into NIN! My second show was in Dallas at the AAC. I had bareky managed to get a single pit ticket, and I was so afraid to go alone. When I arrived I was greeted by a small group of amazing people who instantly became my friends, one of which guided us and helped up grab barrier at A stage. This was my second time in the pit of a concert, and my experience was mesmerizing. The Fragile is an album that means more to me than anyone could ever know, admittedly I listen to it a few times a week to fall asleep. When Somewhat Damaged started playing I couldn't hold back my tears as I screamed the lyrics back to Trent. I've never felt more seen in my entire life. As a transgender person, these last few years have been really hard, and just ultimately depressing. Its hard to fight the urge to give up, but this experience truly has changed my life. And I want to carry it with me as long as I live. Thank you Trent!"

"NIN has probably been my favorite band since I was freshly in high school, when I was getting into the band and it’s music I was really going through a lot mentally while also coming to terms with my gender identity. In this time I found The Downward Spiral and The Fragile and would start listening to them religiously, often multiple times a day. The music on those two albums deeply resonated with me and still do. With all that being said, I was fortunate enough to be able to see my favorite band twice, both times being such amazing experiences for me. To hear these songs that are so important to me and who I am now in a packed arena surrounded by other people who feel the same was so uniquely special. The community has been so wonderful and kind and with all that’s going on in the world right now it was really nice to get to escape into a different little world for a couple of hours. Also the band kicks so much ass live, truly an unforgettable experience."

"Hello! I'm 46 and have been listening to Nine Inch Nails since Headbangers Ball in the 80s. This was show #9 and 10, I've now taken my son to 5 shows. I went through my own drug and alcohol addictions for 26 years. Almost went through a divorce, got clean, and this musicwas always there. Was tripping balls for my first show - with teeth. Traveled to San Antonio from Dallas for 2 shows and to Colorado for one. Always prefer the rail. I almost got Trents tambourine. He threw it out, my hubby and another guy caught it. I put all of my weight on the tambourine, like my feet were off of the ground as it cut through mine and my husband's fingers. Needless to say, I didn't end up with it 😭 Have met plenty of people. The 2018 show got me started on collecting gig posters, a serious can of worms. Can't wait for the next show. I think we will travel to Vegas for that one."
